Try to Keep it Small
If you’re going a long distance, and you need to take some kind of personal computer along with you, try to keep you tech as small and light as possible. A heavy laptop with five different hard drives isn’t something you want to be lugging around as you explore a new country, and depending on your purposes for bringing the computer, there’s a good chance you want need an actual laptop at all.
Could you do with a tablet, or a large phone instead? If you’re just looking to watch downloaded films or TV episodes, or to play games and other entertainment apps, this is a good choice for you. If you’re looking to work as you go, you’re going to need to take your actual laptop – but only take the necessary power cable, battery, and single storage device with you.
Know How to Troubleshoot
If you’re going to be in the middle of nowhere with your laptop out, say at the top of a mountain you just climbed, orin the middle of a field, you’re not going to be connected to a wifi source. So you’re going to need to know how to troubleshoot your computer before you go, no matter the make and model you’re using.

Grab the Right Accessories
Your travel computer needs the right accessories to keep the experience comfortable whilst you’re away. Maybe you should get yourself a 4G dongle, or a portable wifi source, or maybe you just need a spare battery pack, in case you don’t have access to a charging spot at the time. Make sure you get a bag as well, or at least a cover, to keep your laptop safe from the elements whilst you’re using it out and about.
