It can help guide you through your life rather than hinder you.

To visualize properly, learn more about the goal you want to achieve so you can understand it better and, therefore, develop a better and more focused visualization. The visualization can be as in-depth and lengthy as you please. However, the premise is fairly simple: imagine achieving exactly what you want to achieve. See yourself as there, as if it is real and actually happening. By doing this, some potential problems may come to light, and then you can create a path through them. By focusing on a goal, you are focusing energy and creating a path that seems attainable, as long as you are setting this in a real-world scenario. You are, in effect, conditioning your brain to recognize this as your potential future.
