Looking for a new tequila to drink this Fall? Código 1530 is easily one of the best tequilas in the business and has released a 13-year-aged añejo priced at $3,500. Co-owned by the great George Strait, the common tagline from the King is, “if it’s not your favorite, you haven’t tried it.”
Código 1530 is by far one of the most expensive and oldest tequilas in the world with only 350 bottles being produced, making it one of the most coveted releases in company history. Código has taken their already beautifully aged Extra Añejo and finished it in French Cognac casks for an additional six months, giving it a truly unique and distinguished taste.
Tasting notes: Initially there’s a sense of sweet, aged vanilla that’s typical from barrel-aged tequila, followed by a whiff of cocoa powder and cinnamon. Then a lingering middle taste sensation of earthy peat and exotic spices.
