The temperatures are beginning to creep up, and it’s not going to be long before we’re all enjoying all the simple pleasures that the summer months bring. There’ll be trips to the beach, picnics in the park, vacations across the country, and just good old social BBQs in the yard. How can you not love all the fun that everyone’s favorite season provides? And of course, we’re all going to enjoy it even more if we’re looking our fabulous person from the moment summer begins all the way through to Labor Day. But what are some of the ways we can ensure that this is the case? We take a look at six ways below.
New Threads
The arrival of a new season is always a prime opportunity to look through your wardrobe, figure out which items of clothing need to be retired, and which can stay. If you were living last summer to the full, then there will, for sure, be a few items that need to be upgraded. Now’s the perfect time to check out the latest summer styles, hit the shops, and come home with a few new outfits. You’ll find that you’re feeling much more confident when you’re stepping out to attend social events if you’re wearing a stellar combination.
Hitting the Gym
We treat our body differently, depending on the season. During fall and winter, we’re more than happy to let our body rest. We stay in more, eat comfort foods, and put exercise more or less to the back of our mind. But when spring arrives, that begins to change — now, we want to be out, active, and part of the world again, and we want to look our best as we’re doing so. There’s no other way around it — we need to reactivate that gym
Start Your Skin Regime Early
We all exist in the shadows during the winter. We’re not outside as much, we’re wearing hoodies, and in any case, it’s darker anyway, so we’re less “on display.” When summer comes, this all changes. We see many more people, and we want to look our best. However, because we’ve been inside, eating comfort food for months on end, our skin isn’t looking quite as good as it could do. It’s not glowing! As such, it’s a good idea to get working on your skin regime early, so that you’re able to strut your beautiful face with confidence once the fun begins. Look at upgrading your moisturizer, using dermal fillers, and gently easing your skin into the reemerging sunshine. On this last point, it’s important that you really do ease into getting your fill of sunshine, rather than trying to get a tan as quickly as possible — you’ll only end up causing damage, potential long-term damage, to your skin if you soak up too many rays before your body is ready.
Relaxed Moments, Party Moments
If that takes care of the moments leading up to summer, what about when it’s here, and in full-flow? Life can be pretty hectic during the summer. There’s oh so much to do! In the early days of the season, we’re liable to run into all the fun headfirst. But if we do this, we’ll only tire ourselves out, which will prevent us from looking our best. To stay looking fresh, we need to be relaxed. Make sure you’re taking time to enjoy plenty of relaxed moments during summer — it’ll give you the energy and freshness you need to enjoy the more active, party moments.
Keep Face and Hair Fresh
It’s important that you take steps to look after your skin and hair during the summer months. The sun can really do a number on both, which will prevent you from looking your brilliant best. When you’re heading out for the day, make sure you’re loaded up with plenty of sunscreen, and that you’ve applied sun protection products to your hair.
Loving Live
Finally, remember the golden one rule for looking your best — having a happy, positive attitude. Summer is all about energy. If ours is one that enjoys the season to the full, then we’re going to radiate good vibes all around.
