Do you have your Thanksgiving menu planned out yet? Fall moves fast, so chances are you haven’t crossed that off your to-do list so far. Whether you’re hosting your whole family for the big meal or just trying to figure out what to bring for your Friendsgiving, we’ve got you covered with the gravy.
Food blogger and influencer Carissa Stanton (@broccyourbody) has reinvented the traditional gravy recipe with a Casamigos-infused version that will surely be a hit! What does your Thanksgiving menu look like this year?
Tequila Spiked Gravy
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp chopped fresh sage
- 2 tbsp + 1 tsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Dash of cayenne
- 1 shot Casamigos Anejo Tequila
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 cups turkey drippings
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions: Add butter to a skillet and turn the heat to medium. Once the butter melts, add the sage and let it simmer for about 30 seconds. Whisk in flour, chili powder, and cayenne. Once combined, add in the tequila and like juice. Continue whisking until the tequila cooks out, about 2 minutes. Make sure the alcohol has burned off completely before adding the stock. Pour in your stock while continuing to whisk. Bring to a simmer to thicken for 3-4 minutes. Add salt & pepper to taste. Serve generously on top of your Thanksgiving feast!
*Depending on how thick you like your gravy, you can add more flour to thicken or more broth to thin it out. Just keep in mind it will become thicker as it cools down!
